Ghana is marking its 59th Independence Anniversary this week; every year, a parade is held to symbolize the day. The West African country gained Independence from Britain on March 6, 1957.
The police after Thursday’s arrest handed the suspect over to the BNI, which is the country’s top security agency. Further investigations are being conducted.
The Thursday arrest comes after a 36-year-old man, Charles Antwi, was also arrested with a loaded pistol during a Sunday church service at the Ringway Gospel Centre of the Assemblies of God Church where the president worships.
